S P A C E | 'Katana'

The food was low-key fantastic, and the service was very courteous unlike some of the other spots I’d been, out this way. Maybe they just had their fill, out here, of tourists. There was overtourism, after all. Wasn’t there Korean on the ferry port signs, when we got to Yawatahama? Yes. There was. What was all this about, then, this... antagonism? Maybe I was starting to take it personally. Maybe ‘Japan’ wasn’t the friend- ly place I was picturing it would be (why did I do this) before heading up here. From Cambodia. Two years there, two years in Viet Nam prior. I mean, maybe my perception was skewed because Japan was ‘just over there. Easy.’
